Young-Jong Jung Young-Jong Jung

CEO, CJ Internet, Korea

Youngjong Jung is the CEO of CJ Internet, a company formerly known as “Plenus”, which was acquired by CJ Group. Its core business is operating an on-line game portal, “Netmarble”. Prior to his current post, Mr. Jung assumed the role of Corporate Strategy and Managing Director, where he was responsible for building growth and diversification strategies such as strategic M&A, alliance, international business, and new Biz Dev.

As the General Manager and Managing Director of BU from 2002 to 2004, Mr. Jung was responsible for building new search portals, MYM and market entry and business strategy. In 2001, Mr. Jung joined Yahoo Korea as Director of Brand Marketing and Sales, and then appointed as Director of New Biz Dev. where he focused on new business development in entertainment, mobile, and broadcasting to produce new local services to make new revenue stream and attract local users. He was also responsible for developing Yahoo! Korea’s invest and M&A strategy in game, music, mobile, and other businesses.

Mr. Jung began his career in 1993 as Senior Account Executive at Jinro and Coors Brewing Co. for 3 years, and then joined LG Ad inc. Seoul, Korea as an Account Manager for Nike. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Jung took up the role of Senior Brand Manager of Overseas Brand Management Team, at LG Electronics Inc., Seoul, Korea and managed overseas brand activities of the company networks spread over 80 countries worldwide and developed and implemented LG brand strategy.

Mr. Jung received a BA in Political Science from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea and a Masters Degree in Advertising from University of Texas, Austin, U.S.
