Young-Bin Kwon Young-Bin Kwon

Professor, Chung-Ang University

Dr. Young-Bin Kwon was born in 1955, Seoul, Korea. He obtained BSEE from Ajou university with Presidential award in 1978. He obtained MS degree in telecommunication from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1981. He obtained his Ph.D degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST), Paris, France in 1986.

After finishing his PH.D, he joined Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea as an Assistant Professor in March 1986. Where he now serves as a Professor.

He was the Dean of Graduate School of Information and the Director of Information and Telecommunication Research Institute (ITRI). He is currently the Dean of Computing Center at Chung-Ang University. He serves as a governing board member of International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) and a convener of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 (Biometrics)/WG2. He also serves a vice chairman of Korea Information Processing Society (KIPS) and the chairman of Korea SC31 (AIDC) for RFID standardization.

He publishes more than hundred of papers in journals and conferences in the field of pattern recognition. He publishes 2 LNCS series books on Graphics Recognition. His research area is image processing, pattern recognition, RFID, and biometrics.
