Songyee Yoon is Vice President of Communication Intelligence at SK Telecom, where she leads context awaress data service platform development and SKT's user interface strategy, which include agent based personalized mobile service business.
Dr. Yoon's Ph.D. work at MIT Media Laboratory was on synthetic characters, where she created real time life-like animated creatures that evolve and behave sympathetically based on creature-user interaction. She worked as an Engagement Manger at McKinsey & Company, where she was part of Asia Pacific High Tech and Media Entertainment Leadership Group and consulted high tech and media/entertainment companies based in Asia, US and Europe on various issues such as business strategy, M&A and operational improvement.
Dr. Yoon has acted as a member of the Korean government's high tech policy related to bodies, which include the Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology Innovative Technology Committee, Seoul Science Museum Planning Committee and Seoul City's Digital Media City Operating Committee. Dr. Yoon was nominated as one of the Top 50 most influential women in business by the Wall Street Journal in 2005, New Asian Leader, and Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
Dr. Yoon lectured at Yonsei University and Ewha Women's University as an adjunct professor on Digital Media and Entertainment. She got her BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
