So-Ra Park
Associate Professor, Hanyang University, Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication
Sora Park is Associate Professor at the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Hanyang University, Seoul Korea.
Her research focuses on the media industries and media markets. She has written widely on the economics of television, newspaper markets and other information industries. She is also interested in media user patterns and economics. She has published several articles in refereed journal articles both in Korea and internationally, including the Journal of Media Economics, International Journal on Media Management, Asian Journal of Communication and Korean Journal of Journalism and Communication Studies. She also has experience in consulting for the broadcast and telecommunication industries.
Her many awards include the Best Research Paper Award, Korea Council of Economic & Social Research Institutes and First Place competitive award, Debut Category, Management and Sales Division awarded by the Broadcast Education Association. She was also a Fulbright Scholar during 1993-1998.
Professor Park received a Ph.D in Communication Studies at Northwestern University and completed her B.A. in Sociology at Yonsei University in Seoul. Before joining Hanyang University in 2006, she was Assistant Professor & Chair of the School of Communication Arts at Kwangwoon University (2001~2006). She was also a Research Fellow at Korea Press Foundation 1999 to 2001.
