Chang-Hyun Cho
Chairman, Korean Broadcasting Commission
Mr. Cho was elected as the 3rd chairman of KBC, Korean Broadcasting Commission in August 2006. Previously, he was a chairman of Civil Service Commission, Presidential Commission on Government Innovation and a member of Government Reorganization Review Committee, Central Committee and Co-representative of the Citizen's Movement for Media Justice.
He was a vice president of Korean Political Science Association from 1988 to 1995, and prior to this he was a board member of Korean Association for Local Government Studies and Korean Association for Public Administration.
After serving as a professor and head of political science department at University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Pembroke, N.C., U.S.A. from 1968 to 1981, he moved to Hanyang University and served as a professor of public administration department, a dean of Graduate School of Public Administration and Graduate School of Local Self-Government and a vice president at Hanyang University from 1981 to 2001.
Mr. Cho received a bachelor’s degree in law from Yonsei University, a master’s degree from American University and a doctor’s degree from George Washington University. He was awarded Minister of Home Affairs Award in 1996 and Dong-Baek-Jang, National Decoration in 1999.
