Jeong-Suk Koh
President & CEO , Ilshin Investment Co
Dr. Jeong-Suk Koh is President & CEO of Ilshin Investment Co., Ltd. (“Ilshin”) which has managed 17 venture capital and private equity funds with the total commitment of over US $ 350 million for the past 17 years. Prior to joining Ilshin in 1991, he served several Fortune 500 companies and a major Korean conglomerate as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. He currently sits on the boards of Ilshin’s portfolio companies including Giordano Corp. (Giordano Korea), BSK Corp. (The Body Shop Korea) and Youngjae Sagwan (an education service company). He is a non-standing director of Korea Telecom and served as Chairman of the Korea Venture Capital Association. He received Industrial Service Medal for Contribution to the Small & Medium Business Sector for Financial Support in 2001 and Presidential Citation for Contribution to the Small & Medium Business Sector in 1999.
He received a Ph.D. in Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989, an M.S. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1982, and a B.B.A. (summa cum laude) from Seoul National University in 1980. He, as the College Scholar, received the Chief Justice Award upon the graduation from Seoul National University.
He published several articles on cooperative strategy and joint venture.
