Jong-Ruhl Hahn Jong-Ruhl Hahn

Mr. Hahn is an architect with 30 years of experience as Senior Designer and Director of Design at various design firms including James Stewart Polshek and Partners, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC, and Frank O. Gehry and Associates. With these firms, he has been directly involved in; Inventors Hall of Fame, Akron, OH, which is high-tech library and museum to memorize and enhance the sprit of invention; NYU Medical Center, NY, 34 story multi-use building; George Washington Hall, Andover, MA; New Rochelle Ambulatory Surgery Center, New Rochelle, NY, recognized by NYSAA/AIA Design Award; California Aerospace Museum, Los Angeles, CA, well published landmark project; 22 story Hilton Hotel in Seoul, Korea; Dongbu Group’s 23 story headquarter tower in Seoul, Korea.

Mr. Hahn joined Samoo Architects & Engineers in 1993. Since then he leads the design and management of numerous cultural and commercial projects which include Seoul Museum of Art, integration of 1920 neoclassical façade with contemporary museum design; Daegu Opera House, the first Korean opera house out of Seoul where the origin of opera boom, Daegu; Samsung Headquarters in Seoul collaborating with KPF, new direction in conglomerate headquarters; Keumho Asiana New Headquarter, inducing Korean traditional curvature as part of exterior façade concept; Myungdong Old National Theater, joint effort with the Ministry of Culture to revitalize Myungdong culturally where the biggest tourist attraction.

Jong Ruhl Hahn received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree at the Seoul National University in Korea and was graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Architecture Degree in 1983, while attending there he was the recipient of Merit Award of Willeke Design Competition. He has lectured and instructed the architectural design studios at Kyunghee University and Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea.

Mr. Hahn is a registered architect in the State of New York and New Jersey, as well as in Korea. He is currently serves as Vice President for the Korean Institute of Architects.
