Hye-Won Han
Professor, Ewha Womans University
Hye Won Han is a full time instructor in Digital Media Division at Ewha Womans University. She is an editor of Digital Storytelling Society and the Korean Modern Fiction Society. She did her Ph.D in Korean Literature at Ewha Womans University. She has lectured at KAIST, Hongik University, the Catholic University, Seoul Institute of the Art, Kaywon School of Art and Design, etc.
Her subject is within the broad area of literary studies and media studies as related to digital storytelling and transmedia storytelling. She published Digital Game Storytelling(Salim, 2005), Vampire Chronicles(Salim, 2004), Understanding Entertainment Industry(Co-writer, Nexus Biz, 2009), Korean Digital Contents and Policy, (Co-Writer, Book Korea, 2005) and Digital Storytelling (Golden Branch, Co-Writer, 2003) etc.
Her chief journal articles are A Study on Typology of Virtual World and its Development in Metaverse(Korean Digital Contents, 06/2008), The Study on the Narrative of Korean MMORPG (Korea Semiotics, Vol.22, 12/2007), Theory and Practice of Digital Storytelling(Korea language and culture, Vol32, 04/2007), Digital games and Transmedia Storytelling(The Journal of Game Industry, 09/2006) and Mulitvariant Narratives of Digital Games(Korean Literature Studies, Vol28, 03/2006)
She wrote a series of articles on ‘Pulp Fiction’, which are columns about popular literature on Dong-A newspaper(2007). She also wrote scripts for Korean Dance like I don’t Know, (Seoul Art Center, 2005) and Imagine(LG Art Center, 2006).
She executed numerous projects like Korean Storytelling Development (KOCCA, 2008), Metaverse SVC Scenario Design(SK Telecom, 2008), Education Roadmap for Digital Storytelling(GICTC, 2008) and CTRC Virtual World Culture Technology Institute (KOCCA, 2008).
