Hyun-Woong Kim
Principal Dancer, Korean National Ballet
Kim, Hyun-woong, Principal Dancer of the Korea National Ballet, joined KNBC in 1994.
Born to a family with many musical stars, he appeals to audiences with his strong figure and affection for the stage.
As a senior in high school, he received an award from the Korean Dance Association, and after graduating, he participated in the Academy of Korea National Ballet. He was a guest soloist of KNBCs ‘Don Quixote’ and ‘Nutcracker’.
In 2000, he entered Korea National University of Arts and starred as lead dancer in ‘Prince of Pagoda’ and ‘Serenade’. He was graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy and studied under Gennady Selutsky. Performing in KNBC’s ‘the Pirates’, ‘Swan Lake’, ‘Don Quixote’, and ‘Nutcracker’ as one of the principal dancers, he is recognized as the talent of next generation in Korea.
He has received numerous awards including Rookie Awards from the Korean Dance Association and nominated at ‘Benois de la Danse’ in 2006.
