Nuclear confrontation and proliferation remain among the gravest threats to global security.
The Korean peninsula, one of the few remaining regions where the ghosts of the Cold War still linger, makes for an especially appropriate place to discuss nuclear issues and possible solutions, particularly as Seoul will host the second Global Summit on Nuclear Security in 2012.
And on a different but no less serious note, the recent Fukushima nuclear crisis has reminded us yet again of the perils involved in using nuclear power even for a good (peaceful) purpose.
Needless to say, we can't be too careful as we consider how to ensure that there is a peaceful and environmentally-safe world for our future generations.

- How feasible is a nuclear-free world and what measures will assure us of a nuclear-free Northeast Asia? What will shape a new global order free from nuclear threats?
- How effective and sustainable is the Nuclear NPT (Non-proliferation Treaty) regime? Are we dealing with Iran and North Korea properly? To resolve North Korea's nuclear threats, how can we revitalize and leverage a multilateral mechanism such as the Six-Party Talks?
- Will the peace that we want - and what exactly is it that we want by the way? - be guaranteed if we succeed in eradicating nuclear threats? What post-nuclear world are we dreaming of?
- How can the digital community help in this endeavor?
- What approaches will allow us to use nuclear power as a safe and environmentally-friendly source of energy?
