Professor, Graduate School of Culture Technology, KAIST

Cha Meeyoung is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Culture Technology in KAIST. She received a PhD degree in computer science from KAIST in 2008. Previously, she was a post-doctoral researcher at Max Planck Institute for Software Systems in Germany. Her research interests are in the analysis of large-scale online social networks with emphasis on the spread of information, moods, and user influence. She received the best paper award from the Usenix/ACM SIGCOMM Internet Measurement Conference 2007 for her work on YouTube. Her recent work on user influence in Twitter has been featured on New York Times websites and the Harvard Business Review research blog. Her research has been published in leading journals and conferences including PLoS One, Information Sciences, the WWW Conference and the International AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media (ICWSM).
