Jessica Alba Jessica Alba

Founder, The Honest Company

Jessica Alba is an actress, activist, and entrepreneur. Although known throughout the world for her acting career, it is her role as a mom of two girls that inspired the launch of The Honest Company in January, 2012.

The Honest Company is a B Corp and provides families with education and essentials to keep their families and homes healthy, safe and happy. The Honest Company is passionate about their "green" efforts and does so by directly providing to customer fulfillment, thereby eliminating much of the supply chain waste – the company instead invests this money in development and use of all plant-based non-toxic ingredients. Its packaging is made from 100% renewable or recycled materials.

With every purchase, Honest gives time, money and product to Baby2Baby.org and other organizations that advocate and provide essentials to babies in need. In just eight months the products have been listed on the Environmental Working Group’s Sunscreen Guide and recognized by top parenting and eco-friendly awards, including the National Parenting Publication Awards and the Natural Child World Eco-Excellence Awards.

Jessica’s activism endeavors are extensive. She is the current spokesperson for the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families Coalition demanding that government leadership increase protections against toxic chemicals. She has been an avid supporter of several other non-profits including V-Day, Healthy Child Healthy World, Step Up Women’s Network, Children’s Defense Fund and Voto Latino. She is currently on the board of directors of Baby2Baby.org, which supplies essential baby gear and clothing to families in need. She was also listed in Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business 2012 (#17), Entrepreneur of the Year at the UK Glamour Women of the Year 2012 Awards, one of Fortune’s 10 Most Powerful Entrepreneurs, and recipient of the Entertainment Media Association’s Green Parent Award.
