Kil-Nam Chon

Professor Kilnam Chon is a pioneer of the internet since 1980s. He is well known as the founding chairs of numerous internet organizations in Asia and around the world.
He created a network project team to develop a TCP/IP network in Korea in 1982, one of the first internets outside the United States.
He worked on the internet development and deployment around the world through founding and chairing a range of internet organizations around the world, in particular in Asia. Professor Chon was the first Korean to be inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame, having won many international awards such as the Jon Postel Service Award and the World Technology Award. Also being an avid sportsman, he received accolades in Korea including presidential awards for excellence in information technology and mountain climbing.
He is the author of various books and articles on the internet history including An Asia Internet History: First Decade (1980-1990) and An Asia Internet History: Second Decade (1991-2000).
