Tae-You Chang
Drama Producer & Director, SBS
Chang Tae You is a TV drama director of SBS who has led the new Hallyu (Korean wave) with the recent megahit drama, My Love from the Star.
A graduate of Seoul National University majoring in visual design, Chang has made TV dramas that achieve both artistry and popularity through a unique visual storytelling method. He has demonstrated original shooting techniques in War of Money (2007), Painter of the Wind (2008) and Deep Rooted Tree(2011), which illustrated King Sejong’s conflict and agony revolving around the creation of Hangul.
His newest work, My Love from the Star, has brought a renaissance of Hallyu, which had been in its slight decline since Winter Sonata and Dae Jang Geum. It attracted renewed global attention to Korean dramas and actors/actresses, boosting related industries. The drama is contributing greatly to rebuilding Korea’s image as the global content powerhouse.
