Raspberry Pi : Everyday Programming for Everyone
Computers have become an inseparable part of our everyday lives and youngsters cannot imagine a world without smartphones, tablets and the internet. While they are confident users of technology, few have an understanding of how this technology works - let alone how to ‘program’ such a device. In the rush towards sleek, consumer-orientated devices, the opportunity to explore computing and to learn to program has disappeared. Alan Mycroft, Cambridge professor and co-founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, illustrates how the $35 credit card-sized Raspberry Pi computer re-creates the opportunity to learn and re-learn computing through fun, innovative and creative projects - for children and adults alike.
