Neil Shea
Journalist
Neil Shea is an award-winning journalist, teacher, and story consultant.
He is a contributing writer at National Geographic magazine, and a contributing editor at The American Scholar and the Virginia Quarterly Review.
He has also written for many other publications, including Foreign Policy, The Atlantic Monthly, and The Christian Science Monitor.
Since 2014 Neil has been a leading voice in social media storytelling. With National Geographic and other clients he has pioneered the use of Instagram as storytelling platform, where he continues to experiment with methods for delivering powerful, poetic content.
Neil is a visiting professor of non-fiction at Sewanee, the University of the South, and an adjunct professor of journalism at Boston University.
