With the 17th presidential election approaching on December 19th, we in Korea are getting set to welcome in new leadership. Only leadership that builds a clear vision for Korea’s future and that is able to form national consensus will be able to resolve issues such as An Aging Society, Job Crisis, Education, and Family & Happiness what the Future Korea Report had discussed in the past. The time has come, and Korea’s choice for a new leader will make a difference.

According to extensive research conducted by SBS, Koreans are not only concerned about their livelihoods, but are also looking for leadership that encourages them to dream of a brighter future. Those who are unemployed are eager to go to work and those who work hope for a better tomorrow. Middle-aged adults wish to enjoy a happy and peaceful family life upon retirement. Parents dream that their children will have a brighter future. It is indeed the wish of all of us that this country will forever grow as a land of opportunity and inspiration. And all of us carry the anticipation that the next president will help lead the way.
Against this backdrop, SBS presents the 5th Future Korea Report under the theme, “In Search of Dream Leadership.” We will explore ways to deliberate the new leadership that will lead Korea’s future and evaluate the leadership imperatives of Korean presidential candidates.
