LEE Kyogu received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in 1996 and a master’s in music technology from NYU in 2002. He went on to receive his Master of Science in electrical engineering and a PhD in computer-based music theory and acoustics from Stanford University in 2007 and 2008, respectively. From 2007 to 2009, he was Senior Researcher at Gracenote Media Technology Lab. In 2009, he became Associate Dean of SNU Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology and Vice Chair of the Intelligence Information Convergence Studies Department. He is currently leading applied research at the Artificial Intelligence Institute at SNU (AIIS) and serves as director of the AI Arts Research Center. As head of the Music and Audio Research Group at AIIS, he has conducted research focusing on signal processing and machine learning applied to music and audio. In March 2020, he founded Supertone, where he is working to develop an AI audio solution for artists and creators.
