Title Art as an Antidote in the Age of AI Taming

KANG Yiyun is an internationally acclaimed trans-disciplinary artist who uses immersive media and multi-device environments to translate complex challenges facing humanity, including the climate crisis, into powerful sensory experiences. Guided by her mission “to make the unfelt, felt,” she has presented innovative works on leading global stages, including a landmark collaboration with NASA and Google at the COP28 Blue Zone, as well as exhibitions at the V&A in the United Kingdom and Fondation Fiminco in France.

Her work goes beyond artistic achievement, serving as a social catalyst that prompts critical reflection on the coexistence of humanity and technology. Building on this philosophy, KANG has expanded her influence into international discourse and policymaking through engagements including a talk on the TED 2026 main stage, official testimonies at the UK Parliament, and her work as a Civilian Member of the Public Diplomacy Committee under the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After earning her PhD from the Royal College of Art in the United Kingdom, KANG is currently an Associate Professor and Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Industrial Design, College of Engineering, KAIST. Alongside her artistic practice, she conducts research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, engineering, and art, establishing global benchmarks across these fields.
