Kim Jung Ju is the founder of NEXON Corporation and the Chief Executive Officer of NXC Inc., the world’s leading developer and provider of online entertainment contents.
As both a key game developer and management board member, he has propelled NEXON on a course of rapid and constant growth. Kim, who established NEXON Corporation in 1994, has developed a number of widely popular online games, including “The Kingdom of the Winds,” “Crazy Arcade BnB,” “Mabinogi,” and “Kart Rider.” His work has helped Korea gain a solid footing as a global leader in the online game industry.
NEXON introduced the world’s first graphic “massively multiplayer online role-playing game”(MMORPG), “The Kingdom of the Winds,” and, since then, with its diverse and well-received titles, the company has quickly become the leading developer and publisher of online games. Recording revenue of KRW 200 million in its first year of 1995, by 1999 NEXON‘s revenues exceeded KRW 10 billion.
NEXON has doubled its growth rate each year since its establishment and in 2010 it recorded KRW 0.7 trillion in revenue, marking the highest sales figure and profit rate in the Korean online gaming industry. Having regional offices in Korea, Japan, the United States and Europe, the company currently services 30 games online in 72 countries.
